About the Rescue

Double G began as a dream for founder Stephanie Gash and when the property became available she knew that her dream was within reach.  We now have over 47 acres dedicated to the rehabilitation and wellbeing of the horses and other equine that come into our care.

What We Do

We take in animals that are no longer wanted or able to be cared for properly. We also take kill pen horses and donkeys from the auctions and kill buyers directly. We then evaluate the poor souls and heal the ones we can physically and emotionally so that they can then be adopted out to a wonderful forever homes.

Who We Are

Our purpose is to provide a safe and secure environment where horses can heal emotionally and physically.  Where they can transition to the next phase of their life – as a permanent resident here or in a pre-approved forever home. To help find a forever home for elderly or handicapped horses where they can live and die with dignity. To educate the community about proper care and treatment of horses and work with them to prevent neglect and abuse.

Join the Cause

We are dedicated to providing rehabilitation and adoption services for abused, neglected, abandoned, and unwanted horses.  Caring for these horses is financially taxing and we are always in need of funding for feed, medical care, farrier services, supplies, and facility improvements.  Double G Rescue is funded by private donations and fundraisers.  We could not exist nor function without the support of amazing donors and volunteers.

Monetary donations are always appreciated as well as in-kind gifts of feed and equipment.
